How to convert WebP to JPG
- Add your WebP photos. Drop them on the box above, or pick them from your device. You can add up to 300 files in one batch, each up to 50 MB.
- Check that the Format is set to JPG and set the Quality if you want. WipePic has already chosen JPG for you on this page.
- Download the JPG files. One file is saved as it is, and several files are saved as a ZIP.
Why convert WebP to JPG?
You saved a WebP image from the web and an editor, a form or a printer does not accept it. This page turns it into a normal JPG.
What to know about this conversion
- JPG does not store transparency. Transparent areas of the WebP turn white.
- An animated WebP is not converted. WipePic keeps the original file and tells you why.
- The Quality slider goes from low to high and starts at 85. A higher value keeps more detail and makes a larger file.
- The converted photo is turned upright using its Orientation tag, and the new file has the extension .jpg.
- When the colors of a photo cannot be kept in the new file, WipePic converts them to sRGB and shows a note on the file.
Your photos stay on your device
The conversion runs in your browser. WipePic does not upload your photos, does not need an account and has no usage quota. Each converted file is also cleaned of its hidden metadata, so you can share it right away.
Questions
Why do websites give me WebP images?
WebP makes images smaller, so many sites serve it. Programs that are older than the format, and many upload forms, do not accept it. A JPG works nearly everywhere.
What happens to a transparent WebP?
JPG has no transparency, so the transparent parts become white. Convert to PNG instead if you need to keep the transparency.
Can I convert an animated WebP to JPG?
No. A JPG holds one picture. WipePic skips animated WebP files, keeps them in their original format and shows a note.
Does the WebP to JPG conversion remove metadata?
Yes. WipePic removes the hidden metadata, such as the GPS location, the camera model and the capture time, and then converts the picture. The new JPG file is cleaned once more, so it carries none of it.
