WipePic vs ImageStripper
ImageStripper uploads your photos to its server and says it deletes them after one hour. WipePic cleans them in your browser, so they never leave your device, and it has no credits: it is free in the launch.

Where ImageStripper is better
- It publishes a clear deletion promise: images are removed from its servers after one hour.
- Its paid plans offer "visual obfuscation", which slightly resizes and rotates the image. WipePic has no such option.
- Paid plans take 100 images per batch.
Where WipePic is better
- Your photos are not uploaded at all. There is no server copy to trust a deletion promise about.
- More formats: AVIF, GIF, TIFF and DNG as well as JPEG, PNG, WebP and HEIC.
- No credits. WipePic is free during its launch, with a limit of 300 files per batch and 50 MB per file.
WipePic is not open source yet and has two technical limits: 300 files per batch and 50 MB per file. See the full list of alternatives.
Questions
Does ImageStripper upload my photos?
Yes. Its site says images are deleted from its servers after one hour, which means they are first sent to those servers. WipePic does not upload your photos.
Is it safe to upload photos to a metadata remover?
The photo you want to clean is the one that holds your private data, such as GPS location. A tool that works in your browser avoids sending that data anywhere. A tool that uploads leaves you to trust its deletion promise.
How much does ImageStripper cost?
The free plan has 5 processing credits. Paid packs cost $19 (150 credits), $49 (500 credits) or $149 for lifetime (checked November 6, 2026). WipePic is free during its launch.
Does ImageStripper clean HEIC photos?
Yes. It lists JPEG, PNG, HEIC and WebP. WipePic also cleans HEIC, as well as AVIF, GIF, TIFF and DNG.
Try WipePic on your own photos
Free. In your browser. Your photos do not go to a server.
