WipePic vs MetadataRemover.dev
MetadataRemover.dev is the closest like-for-like tool: free, in your browser and with no account. WipePic cleans more formats (HEIC, GIF, TIFF and DNG as well), takes 300 files per batch instead of 20, and does not re-encode your image when it cleans it.

Where MetadataRemover.dev is better
- It says it works offline once the page has loaded.
- It offers an "AI-only strip" mode that works on the bytes of the file and removes only AI labels.
Where WipePic is better
- More formats: HEIC, GIF, TIFF and DNG on top of JPEG, PNG, WebP and AVIF.
- 300 files per batch and 50 MB per file, compared with 20 images and 25 MB.
- It does not re-encode the image. MetadataRemover.dev's default mode re-encodes the image from its pixels and can shift it by one or two pixels. WipePic saves a cleaned file only if its image data is identical to the original (converting formats is a separate option and does change pixels).
WipePic is not open source yet and has two technical limits: 300 files per batch and 50 MB per file. See the full list of alternatives.
